Announcing Villa Aulneau

 

A Port in the Storm announces PHASE 1 - interim, short-term housing for rural and northern patients who need medical care in Winnipeg!

 

Beginning October 1st we will be opening 9 suites at Villa Aulneau, located on rue Aulneau in the heart of St. Boniface, a quiet residential area in Winnipeg minutes from St. Boniface General Hospital and CancerCare Manitoba-Tache site, and 10-15 minutes from Health Sciences Centre and CancerCare Manitoba-MacCharles site.

 

Each suite has a small open-concept kitchenette, living room and separate bedroom with a queen sized bed and a bathroom with a tub and accessible shower. Free use of laundry room just down the hall. Meals may be purchased in the cafeteria at specified times.

 

First time stay requires a referral from a health care provider (Villa Aulneau Referral Form).

What is the cost?

$40 per night - $100 deposit at check-in which will be applied to the final bill at check-out – payment is due weekly.

 

How long can I stay?

You can book for up to one week at a time and request an extension – maximum stay is 3 months unless prior arrangements have been made.

 

What are the rooms like?

Small suites with separate bedroom with queen sized bed, private washrooms with tub and shower, small open-concept kitchen-living area with full size refrigerator, stove, microwave, futon that can sleep 2.

 

How many people can stay with me?

Rooms can accommodate a family of 4

 

What is included?

Phone, TV, free laundry facilities just down the hall, limited free parking available – meals may be purchased in the main cafeteria with advance notice (24-hour preferred) at specified times – breakfast $4 lunch $6 dinner $10

 

What are my responsibilities?

Keep your room clean (vacuum and cleaning supplies can be borrowed from the laundry room) – follow house rules – on check-out leave room tidy, strip bed and place all linens and towels in the bathtub

 

What are the house rules?

No smoking anywhere on the property (including medical marijuana) – no alcohol/illegal drugs – no perfumes/scents – no weapons - guests are welcome between 9 am and 8 pm - limit numbers of guests – be respectful of staff/volunteers/other guests and residents – no violent acts including physical punishment of children – children under the age of 18 must be supervised at all times - wear or show your name badge (provided on check-in) when entering the building – pay your bill – return your keys and name badges on check-out.

 

Where is it located?

In the heart of St. Boniface at 601 rue Aulneau, a quiet residential area approximately a 2 minute drive to St. Boniface Hospital and the CancerCare-Tache site and a 10 minute drive to the Health Sciences Centre and CancerCare Manitoba-McCharles site.

 

How do I make a reservation?

First time stay must be referred by a health care professional – subsequent stays may self-refer, however we will require the name and phone number of your health care professional in Winnipeg. .
